Cataloging & Digital Projects Librarian, Providence College, Providence, RI, 2006-present
 
  • Responsible for original & copy cataloging, including supervising staff of two copy catalogers and performing original cataloging as needed.
  • Manage digital projects including the Providence College Digital Commons http://digitalcommons.providence.edu/ the college’s institutional repository which includes special collections digitization projects and college-produced electronic journals. Established library’s digitization policies, project selection, workflow, and best practices. Supervise staff of two Digital Services Assistants (1 full-time & 1 part-time).
  • Set-up and manage library’s Digital Services Lab, consisting of a selection of computers (Macintosh & Windows), scanners, and creative software. Also manage Macintosh computers and scanners throughout the library commons. Create and manage web resources to support the Lab and related technology.
  • Organized two Library Commons Open House events and Digital Commons Journal Reception to promote the library’s digital resources to the College community.
  • Serve as member of two HELIN Consortium committees (Cataloging and Digital Commons) as well as working group on ERM implementation.

  • Invited presenter at the New England Archivists’ Spring 2008 Conference “Our Digital Footprint: Archives In The Digital Age”, Newport, RI, March 2008.
